CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE
R.N.L.I.
Seaway has been
supplying C4000 electric 2 speed capstans to existing production lifeboats for
25 years. We are currently manufacturing 10 hydraulic C4000 capstans for the new
Tamar life boats .We also regularly maintain and service all the RNLI capstans
in service.

Similar electric C4000 Capstans
are supplied for M.O.D landing craft. We have a new order for these two speed
winches
Pacscat Landing craft for the MOD. Seaway have supplied a system kit, custom capstan and various rams

Cattiva
Seaway Powell supplied 2 new Vangs (main/mizzen),
2 new Backstays with mechanical lock and 3 new Pumps. We also serviced and
upgraded 10 Seaway Captive winches and serviced all the valve blocks for
control of the winches. Also the upgrade and service of the hydraulic system,
replacing all pipe work from the valve blocks to the winches.

We have also supplied a hydraulic system (inc 12rams and piping) for La Cattiva’s aft swim platform.

Seaway had 7off the C12500
bronze capstans returned to our works for upgrade. This was to increase the
heave load from 6000 lb to 9000 lb, to cater for the increased sail area. To
obtain the extra 50% heave load we had to re-design to gear box and fit new
electric motors. This work was carried out over a period to reduce of out of
commission time. The drums were polished and sent back into service. The
winches were installed in
S.Y. Mirabella V
This is the latest in
the Mirabella fleet, she is the largest sloop in the world at 245ft overall,
with a single 90m mast. She has 65 hydraulic functions and 5 hydraulic pumps
driven from prime movers. Seaway designed the hydraulic system and oversaw all
hydraulic aspects of the yacht. We have now designed and are building a new 10
ton halyard winch for the boat to replace the existing one. We have now
supplied a new 10 ton Halyard winch.
